So, what are we all watching this week?
What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Curtain Call: I’m starting to feel like this drama is holding back. We are basically halfway through and yet… still waiting for something to actually happen? And I’m not one to complain over a slow-moving plot! It just seems like for all the potential they have and all the setting up they’ve been doing, we haven’t seen a whole lot of plot development. Maybe they’re planning to go nuts in the second half?
Summer Strike: I loved this drama’s premiere week. I didn’t expect such a somber backstory for our heroine, but it made her life change so much more relieving, necessary, and deserved. It’s quite a leap of faith she took, and I love the bravery and optimism of this character — cause yeah, I would definitely not be okay with a lot of the things she was okay with. Anyway, it was a lovely setup, I can’t wait to see our characters a bit more, and hopefully for the whole village to warm up to her. Also, I happened to find the socks and sandals adorable on her.

Summer Strike: I’m actually someone that finds comfort in my daily routine, and the idea of packing up my whole life and just going wherever the wind takes me sends me into a panic. Needless to say, it’s hard for me to relate to this drama’s heroine, who would rather drag her feet around town in a pair of broken sandals than change into the sneakers tucked in the side pocket of her hiking backpack. I’m liking the start of this drama, though, and for now I plan on sticking with it.
Please Send a Fan Letter: Oooooo! This one is cute! I could do without the excessively bright pink walls of the children’s hospital that make me think of a candy store — not dying children. Maybe that’s what they were aiming for: brightness instead of death. But when one of your main characters is a sick child and everything (thus far) has been pretty stinkin’ cute and happy, maybe using a traditional hospital setting would have been better at keeping viewers grounded and prepared for the potential sad ending. Otherwise, I loved every bit of this new drama. I’m just concerned about how much it’s going to make me ugly cry later.
Love is for Suckers: I’m frustrated that the first thirty minutes of Episode 14 were an extended cut of the last ten minutes of Episode 13. Just shows that this drama would have been better at only 12 episodes. Props to Ji-yeon for taking slight control of her story’s narrative and shoving a cake in Jae-hoon’s face, but she still came off as extremely passive and mopey. Girl, if you want people to stop feeling sad for you, stop feeling sorry for yourself. I’m still excited for next week’s finale, and I’m curious to see if it will end like I’ve been predicting — with Chae-ri editing behind-the-scenes footage to reveal the true love story between Yeo-reum and Jae-hoon in the final episode of the reality show.
Cheer Up: After the hiatus a couple of weeks ago, this one briefly dropped off my radar, but as soon as I picked it up again, I wondered why I’ve skipped it the last few weeks. The cheer aspect of it has lost some of its appeal for me, but I still love the characters and the Scooby Doo-like mystery.
