Team Dramabeans: Our Current Drama Obsessions

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Kiss Sixth Sense: This show is so much more fun than it should be — not only is it shot super pretty, but it has a good sense of humor, delivers the requisite squees, and the main cast is over 35! I didn’t realize how much I needed a story about characters not in theirs 20s until I got sucked into this one. The premise is silly but it doesn’t take away from the strong characters and the fun of the destined-to-fall-in-love-with-grumpy-boss plot line that dramas love so much.

Eve: If I continued to watch it would be to see what’s up with Lee Sang-yub’s character, and how deep he gets pulled into the mire, but sadly Eve didn’t give me the feels I was looking for in the tortured/yearning/melo department.

Kiss Sixth Sense: Found my new favorite currently airing drama! I’ve been meaning to get around to this one, but I’ve been prioritizing the dramas I’d already started. Well, not this week! I’m not caught up on Showtime Begins! because I binged the first six episodes of Kiss Sixth Sense, and then — because I wanted more — I read all the available chapters of the webtoon. Gotta say, I like the drama’s portrayal of the characters and story way better. The female lead in the webtoon is too cutesy for my taste, and I prefer Seo Ji-hye’s more mature and sophisticated version of the character. I’m eagerly awaiting next week’s episodes. Like, Business Proposal level eagerness.

Shooting Stars: I don’t really have much to say about this week’s episodes. I still want more Ki-bbeum and Soo-hyuk (Please, please let us get a scene where she’s his date to his brother’s wedding!), and I’m hoping our leading couple’s relationship goes public in the finale.
