Currently weecapping: Sunbae, Don’t Put on That Lipstick and River Where the Moon Rises

River Where the Moon Rises: I was already pretty meh about this one, and then came the Ji-soo mess. I have no idea how they’ll handle replacing him and if it’ll change the story at all, but it’s bound to be jarring. I’m curious enough about how they’ll deal with this that I might watch a couple more episodes, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be dropping it.

Sisyphus: The plot of this is very The Terminator with a group from the future trying to take out the Important Person in the past while a bodyguard from the future tries to stop them. I like it. I’m not very emotionally invested, but it’s a fun, easy watch.

Beyond Evil: Even though I’m not a fan of procedurals or these kinds of crime dramas in general, I checked this one out for Yeo Jin-gu and Shin Ha-kyun. There’s certainly nothing new about the premise, but I like it better than I expected. So far, it’s character-focused which I appreciate, especially since Shin Ha-kyun is killing it as Dong-shik. I also like the small-town setting that makes everything feel more intimate and tense. Even the policing bits feel more grounded than flashy. As long as it doesn’t get too procedural, I might stick with it.
