So, what are we all watching this week?
What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Honest Candidate: With the Lunar New Year creating a big ol’ lull in the currently airing schedule, I decided to turn to movies this week and I looked to the winners of the Blue Dragon Awards to add to my watch list. First up, Ra Mi-ran’s political comedy. She was so incredible and fun to watch: flawed, funny, and charming all at once. She has such an expressive face and she can do so much with the slightest expression. I love seeing her get the recognition she deserves and I hope this means she’ll be stepping into more lead roles now. Apart from the wonderful performances by the whole cast, I enjoyed the depiction of politics as something that can involve a lot of heart and nobleness–but that doesn’t mean there isn’t pettiness and idiocy too. I also appreciated the inclusion of actual political gaffes committed by Korean politicians (but acted out by Ra Mi-ran) because sometimes truth really is stranger than fiction. Side note, Honest Candidate has made me want to watch Memorials again.

Currently weecapping: Mr. Queen and Sunbae, Don’t Put on That Lipstick
Mr. Queen: Byung-in sure went dark this week, didn’t he? Not that it’s a surprise – he’s been heading this direction (and getting on my last nerve) for a while. Like So-yong astutely pointed out, his “love” is so self-centered that he hadn’t even registered she’s no longer the same person he supposedly loves. So-yong has really been stepping up lately, and this latest crisis showed how far Bong-hwan has come in terms of personal growth; the king and queen make quite the pair now. With only two episodes left, let’s hope we end strong!
