So, what are we all watching this week?
What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Start-Up: I came for the nice set design and Kim Sun-ho dimples, I’m staying for those second lead feelings. Show us Ji-pyeong’s letters already! It’s pretty clear that things are setting up to make Do-san the guy who gets the girl and Ji-pyeong the guy who gains a family, and I’m okay with that, really I am. But I want to see Ji-pyeong admit how Dal-mi’s letters meant just as much to him as his did to her. You know his true heart is laid bare in those notes halmoni “made” him write.

Currently weecapping: Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol, Start-Up
Penthouse: Wow this is so extra. What is this alternate universe in which everyone and their mother happens to be a cutthroat (heh) soprano? I loved An Empress’s Dignity for its hilarious, campy nonsense, but something about this one isn’t working as well for me. I found myself quickly growing bored of all their antics and hysterics. I think part of the problem is the characters are uninteresting and frequently annoying, and I don’t care about who gets into the one art school to rule them all. Two episodes of this one were enough for me.
Search: I love the villagers’ operation Da-jung set up. She is on it. I really like her and her confident daughter. Now we’re weaving in the 1997 incident, and I’m curious to see how that links to the mutant situation going on.
Birthcare Center: I’ve been looking forward to this one with its unique setting and premise. I love the unglamorized portrayal of pregnancy, labor, and recovery. It’s so rare to see depictions like this in dramaland. The humor took me off guard, but I really liked episode one with its touch of ridiculousness injected into serious proceedings. But episode two was a bit all over the place and didn’t gel as well for me. I’m hoping everything comes together more next week because I’m not sure what they’re going for now that we’re at the birth care center. I hope we get to see some varied portrayals of mothers and good female bonding as we go forward since there’s a lot of potential here.
Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol: Well, things certainly went south this week. I was wondering when the creepy stalker dude would make his move. I didn’t expect Joon’s secret to be revealed in such spectacular fashion, but I am glad it’s out there. Joon’s family is so overbearing, and I’m rooting for him to escape their clutches and live happily ever after with his acquired loving family in Eunpo.
