So, what are we all watching this week?
What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Currently weecapping: Zombie Detective
The School Nurse Files: So deliciously off-the-wall. Jung Yumi and Nam Joo-hyuk were perfect in their roles and I love that the drama managed to keep alive the original novel’s weird tone and dry humor. School Nurse was unlike any other drama I’ve seen this year, both in terms of its story and the feel of the show. One of the last bits of dialogue in the drama was so beautiful to me that I’m still thinking about it even days after finishing — “it’s better to be weird than ordinary.”

Currently weecapping: Do You Like Brahms, Zombie Detective
Do you Like Brahms: In the midst of starting their sweet, awkward romance, I hated seeing both our leads’ fall out with their best friends. I get that Hyun-ho and Min-sung were hurt, but did they really have to let it destroy their decade-long friendships? Being upset at your best friend keeping secrets is one thing but blaming them for having feelings that they didn’t act on is unreasonable. Hopefully, they’ll each realize that in time and decide not to throw away a good friend.
The School Nurse Files: This show embodies zaniness. Jung Yumi was fantastic as the begrudging savior, and Nam Joo-hyuk was surprisingly solid in this role. I love that there were no information dumps or excess exposition – things just happened. Also, on a shallower note, it was so refreshing to see people who look like people rather than perfectly coiffed dolls. I hope we get more of these short, out-of-the-box dramas.
Zombie Detective: I was hesitant going in because of the “detective” in the title. The last thing I wanted was yet another crime show, but it also seemed full of campy goodness, so I couldn’t resist giving it a shot. I never thought I’d see a zombie noir, but I’m here for it. Choi Jin-hyuk is killing it, and so long as it maintains its humor, I’m ready for whatever this drama has in store.
