Hello? It’s Me!: This turned out to be such a nice, good old-fashioned feel good story about good winning over evil and redemption being possible for anyone who seeks it. It left me with the warm fuzzies and it was such a nice little break from all the serial killers and psychopaths that are populating dramaland these days. I also love seeing new talent and I was so impressed by Lee Re that I can’t wait to see her in another project. Throughout the show’s run, I’ve enjoyed all the sweet moments and the message behind it all really resonates: Love yourself.
Night in Paradise: So bloody, so brilliant. I have been chomping at the bit to see Uhm Tae-gu on screen again and he was fantastic here as a troubled gangster on the run. I think I’ve become sensitive to violence again because this was such an intense watch and I’m not sure I’ll revisit it (I can’t stomach blood the way I once used to). That said, I enjoyed seeing him with both Jeon Hye-bin and Cha Seung-won, and despite the high levels of violence, I’m glad I watched.

Navillera: Oh, I hope these memory lapses aren’t indicative of something more serious. Deok-chul is finally pursuing his dreams, so he’d better get to dance his little heart out. I love how he and his wife have basically adopted Chae-rok into the family now. Deok-chul and Chae-rok’s relationship is as adorable as I’d hoped.
Sisyphus: So that’s that. I wish they’d taken more care with the time stuff to at least try to make it logical. There’s always going to be loopholes when you’re dealing with time travel stories, but I don’t mind so long as they try to adhere to some rules and follow internal logic. Here the time travel element felt like it wasn’t fully thought out and was just there to make things dramatic. I enjoyed the fun, action-adventure first half, but it dragged for me after that. I think my main issues with the latter half were that Sigma fell completely flat for me as a villain, and I never felt emotionally connected to the story. I still think this would’ve worked much better as a 10 or 12 episode drama.
