On October 16, QWER member Magenta invited fellow member Chodan to her hometown of Pohang in an episode of a TV show.
During the episode, Magenta shared locations she used to visit with her parents when she was in high school and introduced Chodan to some of her favorite local restaurants.
While waiting for their food, Chodan asked, “Didn’t you say that one of your classmates apologized to you after you became famous? Were they the ones who bullied you?”
Magenta replied, “Yes, that happened. It was a student who had been a bystander during the bullying,” adding, “During my school years, I suffered a bit from school violence. One time, I was eating lunch, and someone did something really bad to me.”
The exact details of the incident were censored in the video, and Chodan reacted, saying, “That was too much.”
Recalling the situation, Magenta said, “Later on, a classmate told me, ‘I’ve been enjoying your music,’ and while talking, they admitted, ‘I think I was a bystander )of school bullying) during school. I’m sorry.’ Another classmate also contacted me, saying, ‘I’m glad to see you’re doing well now.’”
Magenta expressed her frustration, saying, “I wasn’t even invited to the reunion. I didn’t even know there was one.”
To this, Chodan joked, “If you go to the reunion, you’ll be a big star. They’ll roll out the red carpet, see your designer bag, and feel jealous.”
Meanwhile, QWER released their track “My Name is Malguem” on September 23, which was produced by (G)I-DLE’s Soyeon. The group has since gained significant popularity, achieving three wins on various music shows.
QWER previously drew attention for having most members dropping out of school before their debut.
