Recently, BELIFT LAB officially addressed the accusations regarding ILLIT’s management in the incident where Hanni (NewJeans) claimed to have been ignored. In their statement, BELIFT asserted that the management never said “Ignore them” to Hanni and emphasized that ILLIT greeted her during their encounter on May 27.
Timeline of the Incident:
- May 27: ILLIT and NewJeans had a meeting. Footage shows ILLIT bowing 90 degrees to Hanni.
- June 13: NewJeans raised the issue, alleging that ILLIT’s management had said “Ignore them.” BELIFT could not pinpoint the exact date of the incident but confirmed through CCTV that ILLIT had greeted Hanni.
- June 19: BELIFT’s management stated that such remarks were never made.
- August 14: Upon re-examination of the CCTV with ADOR, the security company indicated that they could not retain video footage for more than 30 days.
BELIFT emphasized that their management always uses honorifics when communicating with artists, making it impossible for them to have said “Ignore them.” They expressed dissatisfaction with these baseless accusations, arguing that they are adversely affecting the image of both the artists and the staff.
The company demanded an apology from Hanni and ADOR but has yet to receive a response. They stressed that these misleading allegations are not only damaging to the company’s reputation but also negatively impact the morale of their employees.
In their announcement, BELIFT pointed out that they have diligently investigated the matter and submitted two official responses to ADOR. They warned that if this situation continues, the company would consider all necessary measures to protect its reputation.
