On the 19th, Jennie released a voice message through her agency’s official channel, addressing fans as “Rubies” and saying, “Please keep watching. Let’s meet soon.” This led to speculation that Jennie’s official fandom name might be “Rubies.” The confusion deepened as it was pointed out that singer Kwon Eunbi’s official fandom name is also “Ruby,” raising concerns about overlapping fandom names.
In response, a representative from Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, told Xports News, “It was just a term used to address the fans on a news page sharing updates, not an official fandom name announcement,” emphasizing that “Rubies” is not Jennie’s official fandom name.
It was further explained that Jennie’s English name is “Jennie Ruby Jane,” and that she was using “Rubies,” a part of her name, to refer to her fans casually. Jennie had previously trademarked “Jennie Ruby Jane.”
Meanwhile, Jennie has signed a partnership with the major U.S. record label Columbia Records and will make her solo comeback in October with a new single.
