According to YG Entertainment on July 25th, 2NE1 will hold “2024 2NE1 CONCERT [WELCOME BACK] IN SEOUL” at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park, Seoul on October 5th and 6th.
The concert title, [WELCOME BACK], expresses the joy of 2NE1 reuniting with their fans. This will be their first solo concert in about 10 years and 6 months since “[ALL OR NOTHING] in SEOUL” in March 2014, sparking high anticipation.
The comeback of 2NE1, the starting point of YG’s girl group myth, is particularly noteworthy. The members, who dominated the music scene with outstanding live performances and unique stage presence, proved their enduring talent and popularity at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, leaving a strong impression on the global stage.
Collaboration with YG’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk is also expected to create exceptional synergy. Yang Hyun-suk has promised full support for 2NE1’s comeback. The concert will blend YG’s extensive “concert powerhouse” expertise accumulated through world tours and the members’ unwavering live performance prowess, ushering in a new era for 2NE1.
YG stated, “This is a monumental year marking their 15th debut anniversary, and the dramatic reunion with 2NE1 motivated us to start their concerts within this year. Although concerts in Kobe and Tokyo are scheduled for late November and early December, respectively, we prioritized opening the show in Korea as per the members’ wishes.”
Booking venues, especially larger ones, usually requires several months of preparation. YG put in their best efforts to find a feasible venue within this year, and securing the Olympic Hall was a fortunate outcome.
The Olympic Hall can accommodate about 3,000 spectators, meaning about 6,000 fans can attend the two-day event.
YG added, “Given the high expectations following the announcement of the Seoul concert, a fierce ticketing battle is anticipated. Although we regret not being able to host more fans domestically, we will repay with high-quality performances and bring more good news in the future.”
Starting with the Seoul concerts on October 5th and 6th, 2NE1 plans to extend their global tour, including Japan’s Kobe and Tokyo, reaching out to as many international fans as possible by next year.
The general ticket sales for “2024 2NE1 CONCERT [WELCOME BACK] IN SEOUL” will begin at 8 PM on August 5th via Interpark Ticket. There will be no separate pre-sales, and more details can be found on YG’s official website.
