Vintage Photo of LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura Sparks Controversy Online

On July 3, a topic titled “LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura past photoshoot…” was published on the Korean forum Pann Nate, drawing attention.

The topic in question includes an old photo of LE SSERAFIM’s Sakura, which was taken for a pictorial during her time as an idol in Japan. The photo’s racy nature caused many netizens to be shocked, at the same time leading to mixed reactions.

In particular, many criticize the female idol for her past, while some defend Sakura, saying that she likely did not take such a photo by choice.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • Ah, please stop posting things that could be considered sexual harassment. It’s disgusting because anyone can see that it’s something you posted to get cursed at.
  • Do you think she took such a photo voluntarily?
  • Is that underwear
  • Well this is certainly shocking
  • Look at that pose and the outfit… this really took me by surprise
  • It would be strange to foreigners, but Japanese female idols, even those in their early teens, take swimsuit pictorials and shoot music videos and don’t think it’s strange at all.
  • Do you think she took the photo because he wanted to? Her agency told him to. The Japanese idol market is weird.
