K-netizens React: NewJeans’s Japanese Album Events Spark Controversy

A netizen in Nate Pann drew attention by making a post titled, “Isn’t Min Hee-jin and NewJeans funny?ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ”.

They added screenshots of announcements for NewJeans’s “Supernatural” album events for fans who buy the album. They commented, “What did she say at the press conference? Pushing album sales? Bulk buying? She confidently talked about the issue of K-pop albums having many versions and photocards, acting like she didn’t want to do it and would never do it to arouse fans’ sympathy”, adding “Look at what she’s doing with the group’s Japanese album. That’s unbelievable”.

In response, other netizens commented:

– In the first place, the problem was multiple unused album purchases due to excessive due to excessive photocards. This time, they’re trying to give benefits to those who buy the album quickly by giving one special item per version. There would be no multiple purchase issues. So what’s wrong?

– What’s wrong? I guess you don’t know the problem in your own writing. I guess you’re just copying phrases dissing Min Hee-jin somewhere in online communities without understanding their meaning!!! What a waste of my time

– Min Hee-jin didn’t do random photocards or lucky draws. NewJeans gives photocards according to the member version. What are you trying to fool people?

– At the press conference, she said she would not push album sales using random photocards… What are you talking about?

– Min Hee-jin double standards mean what I do is okay but what others do isn’t ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

– You’re the funny one
