aespa’s Giselle Defended by Netizens After Accusations of Making Sexual “Ending Fairy” Expression

On June 2, a topic about aespa’s Giselle’s recent “ending fairy” expression on the MBC program “Show! Music Core” was published on the Korean forum Instiz, drawing attention.

In particular, GIFs attached in the topic show Giselle adopting a sassy manner as she raised her hands to make a peace sign, put out her tongue, and rolled her eyes.

As a result, some comments begin to accuse Giselle of making “innuendos”, associating the female idol’s expression with sexual connotations. However, many stood firm to defend Giselle, claiming that she was probably just making a silly expression suiting for aespa’s recent “alien concept”.

Below are some comments from netizens:

  • If you are thinking about sexual innuendos, then this must mean you have nothing else but gross thoughts in your mind
  • It’s just a funny expression, so why are there so many sexual comments?
  • Do you guys really think she’d make a controversial expression on air? What the hell is wrong with you?
  • It’s probably an odd expression to fit with aespa’s alien concept…
  • Some of you are really out of your mind. Would an idol just make a sexual gesture on air like that? They care about their public image.
