Looking ahead to the last quarter of 2024 and beyond, Disney+ unveiled a new video announcement, taking us on a speedy guided tour through their upcoming K-drama lineup. It’s been almost three years since Disney entered the K-drama scene and they’ve certainly been courting a mass of star-studded talents to continue gracing our screens in the seasons to come.
Drama: Gangnam B-Side (previously Bulk)
Release date: 2024
Need to know: Following Jo Woo-jin, Ji Chang-wook, and Ha Yoon-kyung into the underbelly of Gangnam, the crime series will be premiering first at the Busan International Film Festival in October before its wider release later this year.
Drama: Light Shop
Release date: 2024
Need to know: Joo Ji-hoon and Park Bo-young star in an ensemble cast, with our title’s light shop becoming the crossroads between the mortal and spirit realms. Production for the fantasy-horror is helmed by actor Kim Hee-won making his drama director debut, with scripts by the original webtoonist and Moving’s Kangfull.
Drama: Unmasked (previously Trigger)
Release date: 2025
Need to know: Centered around a mystery-documentary show, the office-thriller has a dogged Kim Hye-soo leading our truth-hunting team, working with Jung Sung-il and Joo Jong-hyuk to bring justice against baddies through their public broadcast.
Drama: Hyper Knife
Release date: 2025
Need to know: Pitting ~genius~ against ~genius~ in a teacher-student relationship that hits the fan, the suspense has Park Eun-bin facing off with Sol Kyung-gu. The medical series also stars bodyguard Yoon Chan-young and fellow doctor Park Byung-eun.
Drama: Knock Off
Release date: 2025
Need to know: Kim Soo-hyun brings us to the 1990s in this period black comedy as he journeys to become the king of fake designer sales. But trouble is afoot when his ex-girlfriend and cop Jo Boa begins a crackdown on the counterfeit market.
Drama: Nine Puzzles
Release date: 2025
Need to know: The mystery-thriller has profiler Kim Da-mi as the sole witness to an old unresolved case and cop Sohn Seok-gu still suspects that she’s culprit. But the situation becomes muddier with the sudden appearance of our title’s mysterious puzzle pieces and a re-surfacing serial murder.
Drama: Low Life
Release date: 2025
Need to know: Inspired by the real-life treasure ship discovery on Korea’s southwest coast in 1975, the webtoon adaptation and crime series is headlined by Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, and Im Soo-jung among other talents in the larger cast.
