Taking a soaring leap from 1945 to present day, Netflix’s Gyeongseong Creature is back with Season 2, where we re-meet Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) and Han So-hee (Soundtrack #1) in the action-thriller’s latest promos.
Following the haphazardous events of Season 1 – that we see in flashback – the teaser then cuts to 78 years later, showcasing the cityscape of what is now Seoul in 2024. But it seems the old threat as well as a still-alive Yoon Chae-ok (Han So-hee) remains roaming the streets. And the latter is shocked to run into Jang Ho-jae (Park Seo-joon), who ~mysteriously~ looks exactly like the first season’s Jang Tae-sang (also Park Seo-joon).
We’re then introduced to our story’s new players, with the ever-sinister Lee Moo-saeng (Blood Free) making a chilling appearance, overseeing the work in shadowy research labs. In contrast, Bae Hyun-sung (Miraculous Brothers) gives a friendly (?) hello. But he’ll also be starting a cat-and-mouse chase with both Ho-jae and Chae-ok as his targets.
Ramping up the action in the teaser’s final sequence, we end on our desperate leads as they fight to put an end to their enemy once and for all. Amid the struggle, we then close as Chae-ok reveals her true fear, expressing her desire for hope in a hopeless world.
With production led by Season 1’s PD Jung Dong-yoon (It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, Stove League) and writer Kang Eun-kyung (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim), Netflix’s Gyeongseong Creature 2 will be releasing this month on September 27.
