Episode count: 16

Reasons to watch: Prepare thyselves! The infamous (but also strangely genius in her own way) makjang queen – screenwriter Im Sung-han — is back with her next drama after the success of Love ft. Marriage and Divorce Seasons 1-3. In Durian’s Affair, we take a time-slip approach, with two noblewoman characters from the Joseon era traveling through time, with all sorts of love (and other?) entanglements along the way. But really, one doesn’t even have to read the synopsis or watch the promotional material to know that a wild ride awaits. And while makjang has never been my cup of tea, it fascinates me as a genre – and so does this sumptuous time-bending story. Park Joo-mi and Choi Myung-gil lead the ensemble cast.

TL;DR: Newest drama from makjang queen/screenwriter Im Sung-han
