tvN is having fun slowly and steadily building buzz for the (already highly anticipated) fantasy romance See You in My 19th Life. Starring reincarnated heroine Shin Hye-sun (Mr. Queen) and Ahn Bo-hyun (Yumi’s Cells 2) as her love from a previous life, the webtoon adaption keeps giving us more without actually giving us very much at all.
In the latest teaser we see our heroine Ban Ji-eum (Shin Hye-sun) musing that she’s excited to meet a certain someone… and then we see that someone, Moon Seo-ha (Ahn Bo-hyun). He’s the fated love from her past life (#18 where she was Yoon Joo-won), and now she not only remembers him in life #19, but she’s seeking him out again.
While getting ready, our hero muses over the name “Ban Ji-eum” and the fact that it sounds familiar even though he’s meeting her for the first time. Meanwhile, Ji-eum also prepares to meet and says, “I remembered you. Will you remember me?”
Though not appearing in any promos yet, the drama also stars Ha Yoon-kyung (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) as our heroine’s younger sister from her 18th life, and Ahn Dong-goo (The Law Cafe) as our hero’s secretary and childhood friend. I think I love these two supporting actors more than our leads — and I really like our leads — so nothing like a great cast and well-loved premise to build maximum anticipation.
Directed by PD Lee Na-jung (Mine, Fight My Way) and written by Choi Young-rim, tvN’s See You in My 19th Life premieres on June 17, following Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938 in the weekend slot.
