In the second teaser for ENA’s idol-underdog drama Namib, we are given a glimpse into the life of our ousted top producer Go Hyun-jung (Mask Girl) and her ray of hope Ryeoun (Twinkling Watermelon).
We open on Kang Soo-hyun (Go Hyun-jung), a star producer with a knack for discovering and developing talent. She’s super busy and super good at her job, but you can tell she’s coasting by, having lost her love of the work. But all that comes to a halt when her company, Pandora Entertainment, decides to suddenly fire her in an internal meeting.
We then cut to Yoo Jin-woo (Ryeoun), an Pandora idol trainee equally at the end of his rope. While talented, higher-ups have decided he’s not cut out for a debut.
With our two leads without a clear future, they decide to take matters into their own hands. Soo-hyun decides she’s not going down without a fight and starts scouting for someone she can manage on her own. Meanwhile, Jin-woo has taken to busking on the streets, which is where Soo-hyun finds him.
Soo-hyun decides Yoo Jin-woo is now in her boat sink or swim, and as the two chase their dreams, they’ll rediscover their love of music and become like the drama’s name: a special place where someone as dry as the desert (Soo-hyun) meets with someone with dreams as big as the ocean (Jin-woo).
Written by Eom Sung-min (Default) and directed by Han Sang-jae (Cold Blooded Intern) and Kang Min-goo, ENA’s Namib is set to premiere December 23.
