Netflix’s latest original series drops this week, and continues their trend of dark disturbing stories that probe the depths of human nature. In Hellbound, citizens start receiving death prophecies, and on the foretold date of their “death” are met with gigantic monsters that presumably come to take care of that event for them. With that as the backdrop, there’s also a cult leader (Yoo Ah-in) that’s somehow involved, and a bunch of other characters — from cops to ordinary citizens — who have to cope with this new reality. Notably, the drama is directed by Yeon Sang-ho of Train to Busan fame, so that should say everything we need to know about the tone and style headed our way.
