After a brief production hiatus due to a COVID-19 scare, Police Academy has come back strong. Jinyoung (My First First Love) makes his post-army return to the smallscreen in this new cop coming-of-age drama, with Cha Tae-hyun (Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation) playing his professor, a law enforcement veteran with nearly 20 years of experience. New stills of both actors completely immersed in their roles have been released.
Cha Tae-hyun plays a seasoned police investigator Yoo Dong-man, who uses his body (perhaps more than his brain) and his wild, gut instincts to catch criminals. On the other hand, Jinyoung plays the role of Kang Sun-ho, a hacker turned police cadet who uses his brains to solve all problems. They meet as student and professor at the police academy and end up working together on a case.
Kang Sun-ho, as a character, is rather aloof; he doesn’t show his emotions or seem to have any ambitions. However, working with Yoo Dong-man and experiencing the feelings of first love with Oh Kang-hee, played by Krystal (Search), inspire a change in him.
Directed by Yoo Gwan-mo and written by Min Jung, Monday-Tuesday KBS drama Police Class will begin airing in July after At a Distance, Spring Is Green has finished its run.
