In anticipation of the premiere just one week away, a new video teaser has been released for the upcoming third season of SBS’s record-breaking hit drama series Penthouse.
The story for season three continues on from where it ended in season two, and is set around the upper class families who reside in the titular penthouse complex. Fueled by insatiable greed for social status and power, our characters face off in a final battle that culminates the ruthless cycle of destruction and revenge that has been bloodying up the sets since the first season.
The new teaser shows most of the main cast reprising their roles, including the central quartet: Lee Jia (The Ghost Detective), Kim So-yeon (Mother of Mine), Eugene (All About My Mom), and Eom Ki-joon (Heart Surgeons).
Also making an appearance are Kim Hyun-soo (Solomon’s Perjury), Kim Young-dae (Cheat on Me, If You Can), and Park Eun-seok (Doctor Prisoner) as well as Ohn Joo-wan (The Lies Within) and Park Ho-san (True Beauty).
The video starts with a car explosion and Lee Jia announces, “Logan is dead. There was someone there, I’m sure of it.” She stands with Kim Young-dae and Kim Hyun-soo in front of a small shrine that was set up at the site of the explosion. A text screen declares, “The last war begins,” and we hear a man laugh maniacally.
Cut to Eom Ki-joon who greets Lee Jia, “I missed you, Shim Soo-ryun.” All the while Kim Young-dae tells a smiling Kim Hyun-soo, “We don’t need to break up ever again now.” Lee asks, “Who did you say was the person who came in with Logan?” And we hear different voices respond, “Baek Joon-ki?” and “Mr. Baek.” We flashback to Ohn Joo-wan arriving at the airport alongside Park Eun-seok, and Ohn claps in glee after a confrontation.
We jump to Eugene standing in a gold-filled vault and Kim So-yeon antagonizes her, “Oh Yoon-hee. You can’t possibly be having an affair with Joo Dante, right?” Speaking of which, Eom Ki-joon turns back to look at Eugene before having an angry and violent outburst. Tilting Eom’s face up with her finger, Kim sounds pleased as she praises him, “As I expected after all, you are Joo Dante.”
Returning to Lee Jia, the teaser draws to a close. Lee faces off against an enemy and angrily declares, “I can deal with anything you throw at me. In the end, I’m going to cut off the airways in your throat.”
On the production side for the drama, PD Joo Dong-min and writer Kim Soon-ok will continue creating their vision for the Penthouse series in the new third season.
Premiering next week on June 4, episodes for Penthouse 3 will be airing once a week Fridays on SBS.
