Nam Joo-hyuk, Kim Tae-ri
A new drama called Twenty-Five, Twenty-One (working title) is in the works and the lead roles have been offered to Kim Tae-ri (Mr. Sunshine) and Nam Joo-hyuk (Start-Up).
The story will follow the characters from when they first meet in 1998, amid the economic chaos of South Korea’s IMF crisis. We then journey with the characters, exploring how their lives and relationships develop over the years until we reach present day in 2024. When they first meet at the ages of twenty and eighteen, they first learn each others names. At twenty-three and nineteen, their relationship is at odds but a year later, they’ve learned to trust one another. By the time they’re twenty-five and twenty-one, their love becomes more mature.
If Kim Tae-ri accepts, she will be playing the role of a promising fencing athlete named Na Hee-do. She started practicing when she was in high school and is now a rising star in her field, winning gold at the Asian Games and making it to the national team. Spirited and energetic, she is determined to keep running towards her dreams and making them come true.
The part that has been offered to Nam Joo-hyuk is news reporter Baek Yi-jin. He likes to chase stories from a wide range of topics and often goes undercover to get the information he needs, whether it means becoming a cosmetics salesman or even a security bodyguard. He first meets Kim Tae-ri while working on a sports case.
On the production team, the writer and one of the directors of Search Query: WWW will be leading the team for Twenty-Five, Twenty-One, writer Kwon Do-eun and PD Jung Ji-hyun respectively.
The drama is currently in the process of finalizing the cast and is planning to air early next year in 2024.
