New Teaser for Sisyphus: The Myth Promises Explosive Action

Fantasy action-thriller Sisyphus: The Myth has released its first teaser, starring Jo Seung-woo (Forest of Secrets 2) and Park Shin-hye (#Alive). This upcoming drama was made specially to commemorate JTBC’s 10th anniversary.

Jo Seung-woo plays a genius engineer who is trying to find the creatures that live amongst humans, while disguising their real identities. Meanwhile, Park Shin-hye plays his savior, who travels a long and dangerous road in order to support him.

The teaser begins with Park Shin-hye sinking in water. Then the scene cuts to her solo fighting off an entire group of men in a residential location. In our first look at Jo Seung-woo, he’s rummaging around what looks like an abandoned laboratory. In his voiceover, he says, “I saw them. We are not alone in this world…”

We cut back to Park Shin-hye who is now facing an entire army of figures with night-vision goggles. As Jo Seung-woo says, “…They were living among us,” a suspicious-looking Sung Dong-il (Hospital Playlist) is shown pulling out a gun. Jo Seung-woo continues, “They are looking for you.”

Park Shin-hye yells for Jo Seung-woo to duck. In the next scene, she’s in combat gear, shooting down those that seem to be targeting her and her father. She calls out to her father, but an explosion knocks everyone down.

A mass bombing of Seoul is shown, and Jo Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye run for their lives. She gripes at him to drive faster, but at a certain point, they need to leave the car. Cops surround their car, but they decide to jump off the bridge while holding hands. In Park Shin-hye’s voiceover, she speaks about her faith in Jo Seung-woo, “If I save you, you will save the world.”

After a gun-shooting scene, she tells him, “You stop.” He wanders with a gun while on the phone, “Let’s really finish it this time.” Park Shin-hye resolutely thinks, “We will be able to do it this time. I will change everything,” while the missiles bombing Seoul reverse course. The last scene just shows a bright light amidst a room that looks like a scene out of a sci-fi alien series.

Written by Lee Jae-in and Jeon Chan-ho, and directed by Jin Hyuk, Sisyphus: The Myth will begin airing in February on JTBC.
