Shin Mina, Kim Sun-ho
It looks like Kim Sun-ho’s career has really sky-rocketed after his recent role in Start-up, as he’s been offered the lead for Mr. Hong alongside dramaland star Shin Mina (Chief of Staff). According to the latest reports, both actors are positively reviewing the script for this upcoming drama.
The project is a drama remake of a 2004 rom-com film Mr. Handy, Mr. Hong, which starred Uhm Jung-hwa (You Are Too Much, Witch’s Romance) and the late Kim Joo-hyuk (Argon). For the remake, Kim Sun-ho has been offered the titular part of Mr. Hong, an unemployed man who is good at everything. Shin Mina has been offered the role of the practical, perfectionist dentist that eventually falls in love with him. It’s set in a small seaside village, and it’s supposed to be a warm, humanistic healing romance.
Although tvN has picked up Mr. Hong for its network, the time slot is currently being negotiated. It sounds like a typical rom-com, but with the right casting and script, it could go from ordinary to extraordinary so I’m looking forward to how things turn out.
