Kim Ro-woon Pursues Won Jin-ah Romantically in New JTBC Office Drama

Puppy love begins in the latest teaser for Sunbae, Don’t Put on That Lipstick. Kim Ro-woon (Extraordinary You) and Won Jin-ah (Melting Me Softly) star in this upcoming JTBC workplace romance that takes place at a makeup company.

The pair both work at the same company and Kim Ro-woon is a fresh-faced newbie to Won Jin-ah’s experienced marketing expert. When Kim falls for her, she’s quick to reject his advances on the basis of his age, but as the teaser shows, Kim Ro-woon is no quitter.

Ro-woon waves an awkward hello at Won Jin-ah. In his voiceover, he dejectedly asks: “To you, Sunbae, I’m a kid, right? You’ve never thought of me as a man? Not even once?” He tosses and turns in bed, thinking over how to get over this romantic barrier. Amidst a pink backscreen, the following text appears: “A sunbae who doesn’t see her hoobae as a man.”

Despite that, Ro-woon doesn’t give up; he changes his love strategy completely. He wordlessly hands a coffee to Won Jin-ah as she’s working. He asks her: “So in order to get your attention, I just have to produce good work?” Then, a whole bunch of clips show him hard at work, trying to impress her. They have dinner together, and he considerately gives her a piece of kimchi.

At a late night at the company, we can see Won Jin-ah’s intense expression as she helps Ro-woon test out skincare products. Ro-woon’s voiceover says: “I’ve improved at least that much, right? If I can defend my superior…”

In the next scene, he does a mini-victory dance in the middle of the street and says: “I think your heart fluttered for a second there, right?” Copy on the blue screen says: “A perfect hoobae who only has eyes for his sunbae.” Ro-woon calls out to Won Jin-ah in numerous scenes with different tones at various venues. In the last scene, heart-thumping noises sound as he confesses again: “Sunbae, I like you.”

Monday-Tuesday drama Sunbae, Don’t Put on That Lipstick, will begin airing on January 18.
