Kim Bum, Lee Jung-eun, Kim Myung-min, Ryu Hye-young
Upcoming drama Law School tells the story of Korea’s most prestigious and competitive law school professors and students becoming involved in an unprecedented case regarding a campus mystery. Recently, Kim Bum (Mrs. Cop 2), Lee Jung-eun (Once Again, When the Camellia Blooms), Kim Myung-min (Miracle That We Met), and Ryu Hye-young (Eun-joo’s Room, Answer Me 1988) confirmed their casting in Law School.
Kim Myung-min stars as a former-prosecutor-turned-criminal-law-professor who has stepped on an elite path his entire life. His venomous wit and blunt manner makes him the most dreaded professor amongst students. He has but one philosophy: he’ll tolerate students who do not become excellent legal minds, but he cannot tolerate those who become legal leeches, using the gray lines of the law to profit from injustice.
Ryu Hye-young returns to the smallscreen after a hiatus of two years as a first-year law school student. Coming from extreme poverty, she’s an affirmative action student who wants to break out of her roots and soar. (Lol, it’s like she’s still her character from Answer Me 1988.) Although she’s surrounded by students that make her feel wanting, her passion for the law lets her hold her head high through it all.
Like Ryu Hye-young, Kim Bum is also set to play a first-year law student. He entered with top marks in his class, and on top of that, he has an easygoing leadership when studying in groups. He’s incredibly good-looking, but he has a hidden inner side that belies what’s on the surface.
Finally, Lee Jung-eun plays a former judge who has become a law school professor. She runs her own legal clinic, providing consultations to those who need it. Her anti-authoritarian stance and carefree personality makes her the number one popular professor on campus when it comes to communicating with students. She’s the only person to whom Kim Myung-min’s character reveals his true thoughts.
JTBC drama Law School, directed by Kim Suk-yoon and written by Seo In, will begin airing in the first half of 2024.
