Forest of Secrets 2 Teaser Reveals Shocking New Conspiracy

A short teaser and more stills have been released for the second season of mystery-thriller Forest of Secrets. Bae Doo-na (Kingdom) returns as the warm-hearted police detective who runs on instinct and fights against injustice. Jo Seung-woo (Life) also reprises his role as the loner prosecutor who cannot feel emotions. In the last season, Bae Doo-na revealed the corruption and bribery of Yoo Jae-myung’s (Itaewon Class) character to the entire world. The second season will focus on the internal conflict between prosecutors and the police over the power and rights of investigation.

This time, Bae Doo-na is not in Yongsan anymore; she’s working in the big leagues, at police headquarters. Her dream was to be a violent crimes detective, and although she started out as a traffic cop, now that she’s here, she prides herself on her work.

Jo Seung-woo’s character has extremely sensitive perception, where even the slightest noise would make him respond negatively. In order to maintain a relatively normal life, he’s had to learn to block out all the noise, and in the process, his understanding and empathy of the world were also diminished. That’s why he comes off as an utterly cold intellectual.

In the recently released teaser, news about a local white-collar crimes unit catching a gambling ring of a large corporation is shown. Flashes of Jo Seung-woo and Bae Doo-na follow. The suspenseful music and purposeful stride of the characters make it seems as though something large will follow. Park Sung-geun (Memorials) walks silently with a crowd of reporters surrounding him, and a police news conference takes place. Jo Seung-woo narrates: “Those who want silence are all co-conspirators.” The final cut shows him running through the halls.

Forest of Secrets 2 begins airing on tvN in August, after It’s Okay to Not Be Okay finishes its run.
