First Script Reading: It’s Okay to Not Be Okay with Kim Soo-hyun and Seo Ye-ji

The cast and crew of tvN’s romance It’s Okay to Not Be Okay (formerly Psycho, but That’s Okay) were recently gathered for the drama’s first script reading and stills have now been released. Present at the reading were lead actors, Kim Soo-hyun (The Producers), Seo Ye-ji (Lawless Attorney), Oh Jung-se (Stove League), and Park Kyu-young (Nokdu Flower).

The drama stars Kim Soo-hyun as the character Moon Kang-tae, a caregiver in the field of psychiatry. Yet, in contrast to his job, he is someone who rejects love in his personal life. And he internalizes his feelings of emotional pain and loneliness so that others cannot see his struggles.

Enter Seo Ye-ji playing Ko Moon-young, a children’s book writer who suffers from antisocial personality disorder. As the two form a connection, they find support and comfort in one another and their relationship blossoms into love.

Oh Jung-se plays Kim Soo-hyun’s older brother, Moon Sang-tae, who struggles with Autism Spectrum Disorder. And Park Kyu-young plays Kim’s co-worker in the psychiatric unit, nurse Nam Joo-ri.

Supporting actors who were also at the reading included Kim Mi-kyung (Hi Bye, Mama!), Jang Young-nam (Find Me in Your Memory), Park Jin-joo (Her Private Life), and Kim Ju-heon (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2) among others.

Writing for the drama is Jo Yong (Jugglers) and directing will be helmed by PD Park Shin-woo (Boyfriend, Jealousy Incarnate).

tvN’s upcoming It’s Okay to Not Be Okay is currently set to air in June, taking over the weekend timeslot following When My Love Blooms.
