A fun new video teaser has been released for JTBC rom-com Midnight Snack Couple, featuring the main cast: Jung Il-woo (Haechi), Kang Ji-young (Soshite, Ikiru), and Lee Hak-joo (A Couple’s World).
The story is about an oddball love triangle that begins to develop when chef Jung Il-woo, PD Kang Ji-young, and designer Lee Hak-joo end up working together on a TV variety show. Kang is a regular customer at Jung’s late-night restaurant, and she persuades him to join her TV show as a host. Lee is brought on to be Jung Il-woo’s stylist for the show.
The teaser starts with Jung Il-woo serving beers at the bar table and he looks with concern at Lee Hak-joo, who looks somber and sits alone. Next to Lee, Kang Ji-young sits with a friend and they happily clink glasses before taking a sip. The friend starts dancing in her seat and asks Jung to turn up the music volume. Kang looks at her, smiling, “Why? What are you doing?” Getting up from her seat, she brings Kang Ji-young out onto the floor with her and the two start dancing together. And they are soon joined by both the server and Lee Hak-joo. As this unfolds, Jung Il-woo starts to try and say something to stop them. But he quickly gives in and starts dancing by himself from behind the counter.
The music suddenly cuts when a customer yells in complaint: “Let’s have some quiet! Are you the only ones here?” For a brief second, everyone stops and looks at him in silence. But the complainer’s friend starts dancing in his seat and the loud music quickly switches back on. Jung Il-woo joins the group on the floor, and everyone continues dancing and having fun.
Writing for the drama is Park Seung-hye (A Man Called God) and directing will be done by PD Song Ji-won (The King 2 Hearts, What’s Up).
JTBC’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama Midnight Snack Couple premieres in just a few weeks on May 25.
