Teen Crime Quartet: A Sneak Peek at Netflix’s Extracurricular

With the premiere just a few days away, new stills have been released for Netflix’s upcoming drama Extracurricular, featuring lead actors Kim Dong-hee (Itaewon Class), Jung Da-bin (Should We Kiss First), Park Joo-hyun (A Piece of Your Mind), and Nam Yoon-soo (The Temperature of Language: Our Nineteen).

The story is about a high school student who starts down a path of crime purely to make money. But, in doing so, he sets off a chain of consequences which entangle him with three other teenagers. Forced together, the four teens face off against challenging and cruel decisions in order to survive.

Kim Dong-hee plays the central character, Jin-soo. He’s a model student in appearance, but is hiding the secret that he’s involved with a mob organization in order to make money. Although the initial choice was made without guilt, he soon finds himself drowning within the crime world and struggles to find a way out.

Park Joo-hyun takes on the role of Gyuri, Kim Dong-hee’s friend. She comes from a well-off family and doesn’t seem like she’s lacking in anything. But she chooses to be Kim’s accomplice in an act of rebellion against her parents’ expectations.

There is not much information about the other two leading characters and how they become involved in Kim Dong-hee’s situation. All we know is that Jung Da-bin plays girl gangster Min-hee. And Nam Yoon-soo plays her boyfriend Ki-tae, who is also the top dog at the school.

Although they aren’t all featured in the stills below, the show also has a strong supporting cast which includes veteran actors, Kim Yeo-jin (Welcome) and Choi Min-soo (Lawless Attorney).

Writing for the drama is rookie writer Jin Han-sae (Irish Uppercut) and directing will be done by PD Kim Jin-min (The Liar and His Lover, Marriage Contract).

Netflix show Extracurricular is currently set to premiere this coming Wednesday, on April 29.
