Kim Min-jae, Park Eun-bin
A new drama is in the works for SBS called Do You Like Brahms? and actors Park Eun-bin (Stove League) and Kim Min-jae (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2) have been courted for leading roles.
Set at a prestigious college, the story focuses on students studying music and their high pressure environment. From a very young age, the students have had endless lessons, practices, and competitions–with their abilities constantly under the scrutiny of others. The drama aims to examine the different relationships in the students’ lives, exploring what it means to truly be supportive and the different factors that drive someone to show support.
If she accepts, Park Eun-bin will be playing the part of Chae Song-ah. After completing her business degree, it took her another 4 tries to finally get accepted into the music program at the same school. Now, at the age of 29, she is re-entering university as a first year student with new majors in violin and instrumental music. Still, like many other young adults, her biggest headaches are uncertainty over her career path while and an unrequited love.
The role that has been offered to Kim Min-jae is pianist Park Joon-young. Hailing from a humble background, he’s an only child and his parents who run a small restaurant. His life changed at the age of 6 when he was first introduced to classical music and the piano. Since then, he’s been winning competitions across the country and receiving scholarships from various cultural foundations. With that support, he attended specialized music schools throughout his youth before being accepted to college as a music major.
On the drama’s production team, Ryu Bori is set to write the scripts and PD Jo Young-min is attached to direct. This will be their second time working together after last year’s SBS drama special Everything and Nothing.
SBS’s new drama Do You Like Brahms? is currently being planned premiere in June 2020, and will be airing Mondays and Tuesdays.
