Han Seok-kyu is back as the quirky genius Teacher Kim for the second season of Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim. After three years, we return to Doldam Hospital and Teacher Kim has two new proteges, played by Lee Sung-kyung and Ahn Hyo-seop. They’re both second-year fellows, and that’s about all they have in common. Lee is studious, with her skills being a result of countless hours of effort and studying. In contrast, Ahn Hyo-seop has never had to study hard in his life, and his talents as a surgeon seem to be a divine gift. Under the tutelage of Teacher Kim, they’ll come to learn some valuable life lessons in addition to medical skills. The drama takes a human approach to the stories of patients and hospital staff, with this season covering dire diagnoses, faked deaths, and more in ways that are heartwarming and comedic. Though not all of the main players from season one are back, most of the supporting cast, as well as the original PD (Yoo In-shik) and writer Kang Eun-kyung are back for Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2.
