Oh no, this looks both adorable and like a heartbreaker already. Hi Bye, Mama! just released a new teaser featuring Kim Tae-hee (Yong-pal) as the lovable ghost mom who wants to be part of the family again. The drama follows her as she miraculously gets another chance to meet her daughter and husband again after her fatal car crash.
Her cardiothoracic surgeon husband, played by Lee Kyu-kyung (Doctor John), and daughter, played by Seo Woo-jin, tried really hard to overcome their grief and pain from her loss. Go Bo-kyul (Arthdal Chronicles) plays the woman who fills the void that Kim Tae-hee leaves behind after her death. They were just starting to live again when Kim Tae-hee appears as part of her 49 day reincarnation journey.
The teaser is all about Kim Tae-hee trying to be a part of the family photoshoot while her husband, daughter, and the new stepmom sit together on the fancy couch, fussing over each other as a family. Kim Tae-hee tries to capture all the attention, going as far as to laying her body over the family, while they completely ignore her.
It’s hilarious to watch until the photograph shows her dissipating and you realize that she’s not really there. She’s just a ghost who has been longing for her family again. Even so, she looks over the photograph with happiness, cheerfully remarking that her daughter is so pretty, just like her. Kim Tae-hee’s ends the video by narrating, “A 49 day reincarnation story, Hi Bye, Mama! premiering in February.”
Hi Bye, Mama! is the first drama that Kim Tae-hee has filmed since her marriage and the births of her two children, so I’m doubly excited to see how motherhood has shaped her acting, especially as it pertains to this role.
tvN Saturday-Sunday drama Hi Bye, Mama! directed by Yoo Jae-won (Oh My Ghostess) and written by Kwon Hye-joo (Go Back Spouses), will begin airing in February.
