Kyaaah! Taecyeon (Rescue Me) is back from the army, and ready for work! It’s just been announced that 2PM’s Taecyeon and Lee Yeon-hee (Package) will be co-starring in upcoming MBC miniseries The Game: Towards Zero. It’s a drama about a clairvoyant who can see the moment before someone’s death and a violent crimes investigator who team up to solve a suspicious serial murder case and begin to learn a shocking hidden secret.
Taecyeon will be playing the part of the clairvoyant who can see the moment before people’s deaths when he looks into their eyes. Although having this ability could be depressing for anyone, Taecyeon’s character is optimistic and tries to do his best within the fate decided for him. He comes off as an intelligent seer.
Lee Yeon-hee will be playing the other half of the duo, the cold and charismatic police investigator. She lost her father when she was young, and has emotional scars dating back to her childhood due to his death.
I’m excited because I’ve seen Lee Yeon-hee and Taecyeon act together before in rom-com movie Marriage Blue. They played a long-time couple who seem picture perfect on the outside, and the movie gave me a really bad case of second lead syndrome. So it’ll be interesting to see these two actors in a completely different genre, pursuing murder instead of marriage.
MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama The Game: Towards Zero, directed by Jang Joon-ho (Time) and written by Lee Ji-hyo (King of Dramas), will begin next January.
