Man, Kim Hyang-gi (Innocent Witness) is just one of those actors who has chemistry with all of her co-stars, notwithstanding her co-stars’ acting experience. And it doesn’t hurt that she has such an engaging screen presence, which makes her so natural and easy to watch. JTBC’s A Moment at Eighteen, a youth drama starring Kim Hyang-gi and former Wanna One member Ong Sung-woo, has released its second teaser recently, showing the two share a sweet moment on a school field.
The clip, which looks like a snippet of a scene we can expect to see in the drama once it airs, starts with Kim Hyang-gi intensely concentrating while she fiddles with Ong Sung-woo’s uniform. Specifically, she’s cutting off his sewn-in, old-fashioned name badge. She addresses him as “hey, transfer” and scoffs at his nickname, “ghost.” She asks whether he doesn’t feel upset that he’s living without any “presence,” which explains his nickname. Think, colorless, or a wallflower to the extreme.
Kim Hyang-gi succeeds in separating his name badge from his school cardigan, and throws it away. True to his nickname, Ong Sung-woo remains wordless throughout the entire interaction, though he silently watches Kim Hyang-gi with a thoughtful look in his eyes, especially when she smilingly turns back round to him in charming slo-mo. The camera zooms in to see that he has a new name tag, in what I assume is Kim Hyang-gi’s handwriting. Adorable. The teaser ends as Ong Sung-woo finally speaks, though it’s offscreen: “In any case, this moment. In any case, eighteen.”
JTBC’s A Moment at Eighteen will premiere on July 22 and air on Mondays and Tuesdays.
