Fashionable Killers & Dogged Detectives in OCN’s Kill It

I feel like it goes against dramaland code to have an unstylish killer, not that I’m complaining or anything. OCN’s upcoming action thriller Kill It has released some stills of our main leads Jang Ki-yong (Come Here and Hug Me) and Nana (The Swindlers, The Good Wife), both looking very suave as a former hitman-for-hire and a detective, respectively.

At least on the face of it, Kill It’s plot sounds like the main leads will be pitted against each other: Jang Ki-yong plays a veterinarian-by-day, killer-by-night, while Nana plays a dogged detective who will stop at nothing to solve a series of murders that she believes is connected to the death of her lover. The stills indicate that the two characters are on mildly cordial terms with each other at some stage, though it remains to be seen whether this is before or after the detective figures out that the veterinarian moonlights as a killer.

I’m torn whether I want the two to end up working together, because on the one hand, it’d be great to have them in a cat-and-mouse type of situation, especially if Jang Ki-yong can maintain his day-job cover. On the other hand, I also love it when we see unusual partnerships in action thrillers like this, on opposite sides of the law, and both complementing the other by taking advantage of their skills sets. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how it pans out.

OCN’s Kill It will air in the Saturday-Sunday slot and premiere on March 23.
