OCN’s upcoming action drama Kill It has released a new teaser featuring its leads, Jang Ki-yong (Come Here and Hug Me) and Nana (The Good Wife).
Kill It is about a determined police detective named Do Hyun-jin (played by Nana) who’s trying to chase down the culprit behind a series of murders. She’s dedicated her life to saving others but she also has a personal investment in solving the murders–she believes her boyfriend may have died at the hands of the culprit. Detective Do’s foil is Kim Soo-hyun (played by Jang Ki-yong). He’s a veterinarian dedicated to caring for animals by day, but his other job? Hired hitman.
The newly released teaser starts with Detective Do calmly loading her gun and donning protective gear. With a steady hand, she takes aim and shoots, coolly hitting the target at its center several times. The camera then zooms around and switches out the paper target with a real person. The focus is sharp on Do Hyun-jin still aiming her gun and the person stands blurred in the distance, his identity unclear. As he takes a step forward, the camera cuts to the targeted person and reveals a blank-faced Kim Soo-hyun. We cut back to Do who now seems somewhat uncertain. The gun remains aimed at Kim, but Do Hyun-jin’s hands falter and cannot pull the trigger. Kim Soo-hyun steps closer and stands face-to-face with Do. He holds a gun as well, but he keeps it down by his side and does not raise it. In voice-over, we hear Do’s narration: “A killer becomes a police target. Signature, killer, action. Kill It.”
Directing for the drama will be done by PD Nam Sung-woo who previously worked on 100 Days My Prince (talk about a change of pace). Writing will be a joint effort by writers Sohn Hyun-soo and Choi Myung-jin.
OCN’s Kill It is currently set to premiere in a few weeks on March 23, 2019.
