Curiouser and curiouser. OCN looks like they have another hit on their hands with Kill It, formerly known as Blue Eyes, featuring up-and-coming leading man Jang Ki-yong (Come Here and Hug Me) and Nana (The Swindlers, The Good Wife) headlining in the action thriller. I’ve really enjoyed witnessing Jang Ki-yong’s rather rapid rise to leading man status, and I’m hoping Kill It will further cement his place in dramaland.
The latest teaser for Kill It is quite straight-to-the-point, and opens up as Jang Ki-yong assembles a sniper’s rifle on the roof of a building. He narrates that, “Life is precious, of course. As long as it isn’t a target,” while he aims and fires at an unknown target in the office building across the way. The clip is very much in line with OCN’s M.O.: It’s stylish and slick, with all the efficiency and subtlety of a professional hitman. Not that that’s a bad thing.
Jang Ki-yong will play a killer with a day job as a veterinarian, while Nana will play a detective chasing a serial killer, who may have also killed her lover. Hm, it definitely sounds like the plot is set up for a cat-and-mouse game between the two, which should be interesting if we as the audience are meant to root for both of the leads. I’m more interested in Jang Ki-yong’s character, as well, since we don’t know why he’s turned his back on being a professional hitman and taken up a double life as a vet. I love it when there’s a mysterious backstory to mine.
Kill It will premiere on March 16, and air on OCN’s weekend slot following currently airing Trap.
