Ultimate Nethros Beginner’s Guide: Leveling, Skills, Classes & Tips

Nethros offers a unique gaming experience without the consequences of permadeath, making every decision yours to control. With a plethora of tips at your disposal, you’re set to start your journey strong and informed. This guide covers essential topics such as race options, farming for levels and weapon experience, class unlocks, and more. Dive into this comprehensive Nethros beginner’s guide to enhance your gameplay.

Nethros Race and Character Creation Guide

Here’s everything you need to know about character creation and races in Nethros:

  • Race: Your starting race gives you a stat boost of typically +10, with a passive ability and active abilities unlocked as you progress. Check out our Nethros Race tier list for optimal choices. You can reroll races using Robux.
    • Seraphim (2%): Begins with mana; parrying spells refills mana. Damage from spells converts 10% to Lumia.
    • Ashkin (5%): Reduced fire damage.
    • Weaver (7%): Enhanced climbing height and wall run speed; critical attacks poison targets.
    • Draconic (12%): 10% reduced fire damage and increased fire attack potency.
    • Geonite (18%): Shields activated upon guard breaks, reducing damage by 25% for 3 seconds.
    • Primalis (15%): Faster empowered dash; attacks apply Bleed with Momentum.
    • Taurin (25%): Knocked down? You won’t start the recovery timer anew with additional hits.
    • Human (30%): If HP drops below 15%, cooldowns reset.
  • Weapon: Weapons offer distinct movesets and ranges. Choose wisely, but remember you can switch later using Yins at any Weapon Smith marked by three vertical swords or through crafting.
  • Faction: Start in either Heathmorne or New Avalon. There are minor differences, mainly in NPC locations. Heathmorne’s snowy terrain contrasts with New Avalon’s greenery. Choose based on your friends’ preferences or your personal taste if playing solo.

Nethros Starting Quest Guide

Your adventure begins by interacting with the marked NPC in your spawn building. Remember, Left Alt activates shift lock. This NPC will guide you through mini-quests for the Gatherer, Alchemist, Miner, Ritual, Forger, and Reforger, which are clearly indicated on your map. For a smoother experience, here are some tips for each quest:

  • Gatherer: Mushrooms are scattered across the surface. Iverwood is found on tree sides, while Moonshade, another type of mushroom, lurks in the underground mines along with Gold and Silver.
  • Miner: Speak with the Miner to obtain a pickaxe and venture into the mines to collect Gold and Silver ore. Refer to my wall climbing guide for parkour tips.
  • Ritual: This task involves using chalk to create a Respite ritual. Rest at the crystals or beds to learn skills.
  • Alchemist: Collect 3 Iverwood for a Flux potion, 3 Mushrooms for an HP potion, and 3 Moonshade for a Speed potion. You’ll need to equip the ingredients to interact with the brewing pot.
  • Forger: After receiving a blueprint from the Forger NPC, ensure you have silver and gold. Craft your weapon at the anvil by completing a quick-time event.
  • Reforger: Learn to enhance weapons using Yins. Interact with the Blacksmith NPC, place your weapon, and pay the required Yins for buffing.

Once all these tasks are completed, return to the starting NPC to continue your journey.

How to Wall Jump in Nethros

Mastering wall hopping and running is crucial for enhancing mobility in Nethros, allowing you to reach incredible heights. To wall jump:

  • Approach a vertical surface, jump, and immediately press Space and S (backward) to wall hop.
  • As you wall hop, angle your camera upwards and press Space again to air dash upwards.
  • Repeat this to efficiently climb any vertical surface.

Avoid running up a wall prematurely, as it will break your Wall Hop and Air dash chain, causing you to fall.

Wall running in Nethros involves jumping against a wall while facing the desired direction. Hold Space to continue running and leap off by pressing Space again. This technique, paired with wall hopping, enables you to scale any mountain easily.

No fall damage exists in Nethros. Acquiring the Mounted Hook will further enhance your mobility options.

How to Level Up and Increase Stats in Nethros

You can gain character EXP by completing quests, battling monsters, and engaging in various activities. Check your current level by pressing Tab, where you’ll also see available stat points. Use these points to enhance your stats as desired.

How to Get Virtues and Skills in Nethros

In Nethros, general character skills, weapon abilities, and special passives are identified as Virtues (for passives) and Skills (for actives). Unlocking them involves the following:

  • Resting: Equip Virtues by resting at beds or crystals and pressing M to access the Virtue menu. Different Virtues have specific stat prerequisites.
  • General Virtues: Certain Virtues depend on your stats. For instance, you might need 10 Vitality to unlock a particular Virtue.
  • Weapon Skills: Each weapon has a skill tree displayed in the Virtue menu. Unlock these through weapon EXP gained from combat and by allocating Virtue points earned through level progression.
  • Race Skills: Your chosen race will provide you special abilities. You begin with a passive ability and eventually unlock more active skills.

How to Do Assignments in Nethros (Farming EXP)

After finishing the starting quest, venture to the next main location and speak to the quest NPC. You will need to retrieve a package to prove yourself. Utilize the wall hopping trick to expedite completing this task.

Here, you’ll access the Assignment board to undertake Contracts and Assignments. Assignments help you level efficiently. Although the Delivery Assignment is quicker, the Escort Assignment enables combat, enhancing your Weapon EXP. Complete each Assignment for a chance to earn gear, ingredients, and crafting blueprints.

Each rank achieved through Assignments unlocks more challenging tasks for better rewards. They are excellent for farming levels and Weapon EXP.

How to Get a Class in Nethros

In Nethros, classes are unlocked by progressing through the weapon skill trees. To earn a class, reach the skill node for a specific weapon, marked as Class Extension, such as Witch Hunter Extension for the Rapier. You must achieve Level 20 and unlock all weapon skills and Virtues up to the Class extension node. Afterward, locate your trainer—like the Blade Dancer trainer near the waterfall in New Avalon.

How to Set Spawn Location in Nethros

To customize your spawn point in Nethros, head to any Bed icon NPC in camps or strongholds and purchase a bed for 200 Yin (approximately €20). This bed will become your respawn point until you decide to change it.

How to Get Glider and Grappling Hook

The Glider and the Grappling Hook (Mounted Hook) can be found at most merchant locations marked by three vertical sword icons. The Glider costs 500 Yins (about €50) and allows for smooth descent from heights, while the Grappling Hook requires 10,000 Yins (around €100) and is excellent for vertical mobility during combat.

What are World Events in Nethros?

World Events are global occurrences allowing any server player to join. These events focus on PVP, granting Honor Points, reputation, Yins, and high-level gear. They are a fantastic opportunity to test your build risk-free. Currently, there are two main events:

  • Gladiator: A large-scale PVP battle.
  • Dominion: A capture-the-flag style event requiring you to capture and protect monoliths for victory.
