Updated on December 9, 2025: This guide will be refreshed for Ending #3, launching on December 14, 2025.
Are you ready to master Dig to Escape? Whether you’re aiming for the fastest possible completion or trying to uncover all the secrets, I’ve got you covered. This game takes about 30 to 60 minutes to complete, and currently features two intriguing endings. Below is your essential guide to navigating both paths successfully.
Mineshaft Ending Guide
The default ending in Dig to Escape is the Mineshaft Ending. To reach this conclusion, you’ll need to dig your way to the bottom of the prison while managing a running sequence to finish the game. Follow these tips to achieve success:
- The guard only ends your run if he catches you. This means you can interact with NPCs outside your cell, as long as you return before he arrives.
- You can leave doors, vents, and carpets open without any issues. Just make sure to close your cell door at night to avoid detection by the guard.
- Dig straight down and return to sell items frequently; this conserves energy while yielding plenty of treasures.
- Always save money for your next digging tool upgrade to ensure you can progress steadily.
- Purchase food in stacks of 2 to 4 for value, and save syringes for when you have the appropriate tool for deeper layers.
- Utilize the vent outside your cell to access trade NPCs and the sell NPC at night.
- Dynamites can speed up digging through layers, but use them sparingly for the final levels.
- Don’t waste resources on the Illegal Card; it’s meant for the Janitor ending instead.
- The chase sequence for the Mineshaft ending begins as soon as you drop down to the last level. Just keep moving forward without looking back, and avoid obstacles until you reach the ladder.
Janitor Ending Guide
Pursuing the Janitor Ending requires negotiating the Illegal Card and escaping via the Janitor room. Here’s how you can do this:
- First, farm 200 Toilet Paper to purchase the Illegal Card.
- Utilize the strategies from the Mineshaft ending to accumulate enough Toilet Paper without needing to dive deeper for late-game tools.
- Check with the Trade NPCs daily until you find the Illegal Card for sale.
- Once equipped with it, time your escape during the daytime, preferably before lunchtime, heading to the Security room.
- The guard inside will be asleep, so quickly grab the ladder on the left and head to the Janitor room.
- Place the ladder in the Janitor room and make your escape through the vent above.
- A sequence will unfold where you must evade the guard while collecting batteries.
- Find the batteries and covertly place them in the fusebox; various rooms can serve as hiding spots.
- Once all batteries are placed, an escape door will open, granting you the Janitor ending.
Best Classes in Dig to Escape
Your choice of class can greatly impact your journey in Dig to Escape. With Diamonds earned from your progress, you can buy different classes tailored for each ending:
- Mineshaft Ending: The best choice is the Bargainer class for cheaper digging upgrades and energy. The Energizer class is also beneficial for prolonged digging sessions.
- Janitor Ending: The Speedster class is ideal here, allowing you to move swiftly during the tense battery-collecting segment. Alternatively, any Mineshaft classes will support you adequately.
