Complete Dig to Escape Endings Guide & Top Classes Revealed

All Dig to Escape Endings Guide: Top Classes for Success

Updated on December 9, 2025: I will be updating this guide for ending #3 coming out on December 14, 2025.

This game takes about 30-60 minutes to complete, and the excitement lies in which Dig to Escape ending you choose and how quickly you finish. As of now, there are two possible endings, and I’ve compiled a step-by-step guide for both. Get ready for my All Dig to Escape endings guide.

Dig to Escape: Mineshaft Ending Guide

The main ending in Dig to Escape is the Mineshaft ending, where you dig deep into the prison and trigger a chase to finish the game. You’ll need to keep digging downwards, returning to sell items, and upgrading your digging tools (check the image above!). Don’t forget to buy energy from the trading NPCs, and you can grab free energy from the chef at lunchtime. Here are some quick tips for achieving this ending:

  • The guard won’t stop you unless he sees you, so feel free to interact with NPCs as long as you get back behind your cell door or to a vent before he arrives.
  • You can leave doors, vents, and carpets open, but always close your cell door at night to avoid being spotted when you surface with items.
  • Dig straight down and return to sell items. This method conserves your energy while providing a good number of items.
  • Always save enough money for your next digging tool upgrade. Once you buy a tool for a lower layer, stock up on Energy, Storage, and Dynamite.
  • Buy food in batches of 2 to 4 since it’s inexpensive. Only purchase syringes if you have the appropriate tool and plan to dig for a while.
  • Utilize the vent outside your cell to access trade NPCs and the Sell NPC at night.
  • While you technically don’t need Dynamites, they can help you dig faster, and they won’t alert the guard—so save a few for tough layers if you have extra supplies.
  • Don’t waste cash on the Illegal Card, as that’s meant for the Janitor ending.
  • The chase sequence for the Mineshaft ending kicks in when you reach the last level. Just keep moving straight ahead—don’t look back, and dodge obstacles until you reach the exit ladder.

The Dig to Escape Janitor ending involves buying the Illegal Card and escaping via the Janitor room. Here’s how to pull it off:

  • Start by gathering 200 Toilet Paper to buy the Illegal Card.
  • Utilize tricks from the first ending to accumulate the required Toilet Paper.
  • Stick to the first few layers to gather resources without needing expensive digging tools. Free energy from the chef and buying energy will really help.
  • Once you hit 200 Toilet Paper, check with any of the four Trade NPCs to buy the Illegal Card. If it’s not available, try again the next day as items refresh daily.
  • With the Illegal Card in hand, make it daytime—preferably before lunchtime—and head to the Security room after the cafeteria to unlock the door. You can access the janitor and security rooms through the vent in your cell.
  • The guard will be sleeping, allowing you to grab the ladder nearby and take it to the Janitor room.
  • Place the ladder in the Janitor room and escape through the vent overhead.
  • This sets off a sequence where you’ll need to hide from the guard while gathering batteries.
  • Collect all the batteries without being spotted, then place them in the fusebox.
  • Different rooms in the office will help you find batteries and provide hiding spots.
  • Stay crouched behind tables to avoid detection.
  • Once you have all the batteries, place them in the fusebox, and a door will open, granting you the Janitor ending.

What Are the Best Classes in Dig to Escape?

Your class in Dig to Escape can significantly impact which ending you achieve. Diamonds earned from your runs can be exchanged for these classes. Consider the best options:

  • Mineshaft Ending: The Bargainer class is ideal for getting digging upgrades and energy at a lower cost.
    • Second-Best: Energizer helps you dig longer, and Heavy Lifter increases your item capacity. If you’re playing with friends, aim for Hyperactive or Energizer since teammates will help collect items.
  • Janitor Ending: The Speedster class allows faster movement during the battery collection sequence.
    • Second-Best: Choose any of the Mineshaft classes for better trading options and earlier farming.
