Roblox Universal Piece has just made a comeback, inviting both newcomers and veteran players back into the immersive world of pirates. If you’re new to this popular game, it’s normal to feel a bit overwhelmed by its mechanics and features. To ease your journey, we’ve crafted the Ultimate Universal Piece Beginner’s Guide just for you.
What is Universal Piece?

Universal Piece can be described as Blox Fruits with enhanced graphics and improved quality of life features. If you’ve played Blox Fruits, you probably already know the drill. However, if you’re new to the genre, Universal Piece is a grind-heavy MMORPG inspired by the One Piece series. You will assume the role of a pirate, journeying from island to island, engaging foes, and leveling up. The cycle typically involves accepting quests, completing them, and then repeating this process until you’re strong enough to advance to the next island.
Like Blox Fruits, Universal Piece is quite grindy. If you find repetitive battles unappealing, this game might not be for you. However, if you’re up for the grind (like many of us!), you’ll find yourself leveling up rapidly. Levels can soar up to 10,000, and you can generally expect to earn over 100 levels for most activities in the game. With each new update, developers typically raise the level cap, introduce fresh fruits, and occasionally add new islands.
Even though you’ll face the same adversaries repeatedly, there are various tactics to engage them. Just like in One Piece, you can acquire (Devil) Fruits that grant you unique powers, including elemental attacks, creature summoning capabilities, and some truly bizarre abilities. Unlike in the anime, you have the freedom to switch Fruits. This flexibility is one of the major attractions of Universal Piece. While it’s also possible to focus on classic weaponry, many players opt for the power that comes with Fruits. Ultimately, your strength largely hinges on the Fruit you choose to wield.
How to Get Fruits in Universal Piece

When you first enter the game, your initial fruit will come from the Daily Login rewards. Although this may be a less powerful fruit, don’t hesitate to utilize it. Simply select a fruit from your hotbar, consume it, and harness its abilities.
Looking to try different fruits? Here are several ways to obtain them:
- Power Gacha: There’s an NPC located just behind you when you start. You can spend 100 Gems to randomly roll for a Fruit.
- Power Dealer: Upstairs in the same building, you’ll find a Power Dealer NPC (with angel wings) who sells Fruits for Gems. Prices vary, and stock changes, so check back regularly. You can also purchase Fruits for Robux.
- Drops from Bosses: Bosses may drop Fruits with a small chance upon defeat.
- Wild Fruits: Occasionally, Fruits can be found in the wild or gifted by other players, though these methods carry some risk.

Keep in mind that you can only equip one Fruit at a time. If you consume a new fruit, your previous powers will be lost unless you find and eat that fruit again. It’s wise to maintain a copy of each fruit in your inventory. Store your fruits, and they’ll be available for future use.
If you want to permanently keep a fruit, purchasing it for Robux is an option. However, this can quickly become expensive, especially for rare fruits.
How to Level Up in Universal Piece
In Universal Piece, most of your leveling up occurs through completing quests rather than defeating enemies. If you’re solely hunting foes without a quest, you might be missing the point!

Each island features a Quest NPC offering various “Kill 10 X” tasks. For instance, on Novice Island, you might encounter a BanditQuest NPC instructing you to eliminate bandits. If you’re uncertain about your next objective, utilize the handy Guide Tracker in the game; it indicates where to find NPCs, their functions, and even helps track specific tasks.
Completing a quest often results in a surge of levels; don’t let the numbers intimidate you! Each level provides Stat Points, which are crucial as levels alone won’t give you the power you need unless you allocate these points wisely. Access your Stats Screen (the icon beneath the cogwheel) and invest wisely in:
- Melee: Boosts your energy (mana) for hand-to-hand combat.
- Defense: Increases your health and overall defense against hits.
- Weapons: Enhances weapon damage.
- Power: Amplifies damage from your Fruit powers.

It may seem that investing in each stat is the way to go, but many players find success by focusing primarily on either Power (for Fruit users) or Weapons (for weapon users). Strong recommendations suggest maintaining around 80% of your points in either Power or Weapons, with the remaining 20% divided between Melee and Defense. This strategy often leads to reaching maxed-out stats by the time players achieve the maximum level.
How Fighting Works in Universal Piece

Universal Piece features a simple yet engaging fighting style. Essentially, foes will charge at you impetuously, and your job is to deliver the first blows. You can attack enemies first while utilizing your Fruit powers and maneuver away as they swing back. This straightforward logic extends to boss encounters, which, although tougher due to greater health and power, can benefit from teamwork.
While dodging attacks isn’t an option, a handy dash and double jump feature can enhance your mobility. You can double jump up to 10 times and dash freely, creating plenty of movement opportunities.
Player versus Player (PvP) combat adds another layer of excitement. Many times, the player with the superior Fruit will likely prevail, but skill can tip the scales. In PvP, if you eliminate a rival player, you gain their bounty, increasing your notoriety with each defeat you deliver.
How to Get Gems in Universal Piece

Universal Piece utilizes various forms of currency for different functions in the game.
- Yen: Your standard currency, useful for minor purchases like ship rentals and crafting fees. You earn Yen by defeating foes and finishing quests.
- Gems: This premium currency is essential for buying Fruits and participating in the Power Gacha. You can obtain Gems by completing Daily Quests or Fishing, and occasionally they drop from bosses. For comprehensive strategies, check out our Universal Piece Gem Farming Guide.
- Other Materials: Specific enemies and bosses will drop materials essential for crafting various items, including weapons.
How to Get Weapons in Universal Piece

Acquiring weapons differs from obtaining Fruits. First, pinpoint the appropriate Weapon Vendor. The Guide Tracker simplifies this process by highlighting all Weapon NPCs and their merchandise. When interacting with these vendors, they will outline the materials required to craft a weapon, typically sourced from the same island as the vendor. Collecting weapons can be an exciting aspect of gameplay, even if some may not be immediately necessary.
