Since the launch of ChatGPT in late 2022, large language models have become popular tools for accessing knowledge effortlessly. You ask a question, receive a neatly packaged answer, and move on. But, does this convenience come at a cost? Recent research suggests it might. A study by marketing professors Jin Ho Yun and myself reveals that relying solely on LLMs for information can lead to a shallow understanding of subjects compared to more traditional methods like Google searches.
