Where to Find the Potato at 6 Tanglewood Drive — Phasmophobia

I froze in the kitchen doorway when my torch skimmed a tiny shape beneath the counter. You feel that jolt too—this isn’t about evidence or EMF; it’s about a tiny, ridiculous Easter egg in a haunted house. I’ll show you exactly where the Potato hides after the March 3, 2026 rework so you don’t leave Tanglewood empty-handed.

The kitchen now feels smaller and oddly rearranged, a quick glance betrays how much changed in the rework.

I playtested 6 Tanglewood Drive after the Kinetic Games update on March 3, 2026, and yes—the Potato survived. It’s still in the kitchen, but the room’s new layout buries it more effectively; finding it can feel like finding a needle in a haystack.

  • Enter 6 Tanglewood Drive and move through the main hallway toward the living room, but stop before you enter it.
  • Turn right and walk forward until you hit a dead end, then turn right again into the small, closed-off kitchen.
  • Once inside the kitchen, face the dining room area and look down to your left.
  • There’s a counter with a drawer and a cabinet underneath—open that cabinet and the Potato will be sitting inside.

The item appears every run in this map; unlike Cursed Possessions with variable spawns, the Potato is guaranteed. It’s one of only two maps where Kinetic Games placed this Easter egg, which makes it a rare, repeatable find and a neat tribute to the community.

Where is the Potato in 6 Tanglewood Drive?

Short answer: inside a cabinet beneath a counter in the small kitchen off the main hallway. If the kitchen looks unfamiliar, follow the hallway to the far right, enter the compact kitchen area, and scan the lower cabinet on the left—there it will be.

Is the Potato still present after the March 3, 2026 map rework?

Yes. I checked the post-update build on Steam and ran multiple sessions: the Potato persisted. Treat it as a deliberate signature from the devs, a small breadcrumb left by the devs for players who hunt curiosities between ghost hunts.

A quick observation: most items in Phasmophobia have gameplay roles, this one does not—it’s purely an Easter egg.

The Potato is a static gag object you can pick up and toss. It’s a shout-out to creator PsychoHypnotic—his Twitch channel and YouTube persona are heavy on potato-themed bits, and the item even plays his Twitch alert sound when dropped. That’s the whole point: personality over utility.

What does the Potato do in Phasmophobia?

It gives you a laugh and a sound cue. No evidence value, no ghost interaction, no mission objective—just a tiny, repeatable moment of community flavor that ties PsychoHypnotic, Twitch alerts, and Phasmophobia’s modding spirit together.

If you want the full experience, try the other spawn at Sunny Meadows Mental Institution: the Potato sits inside the oven in the bakehouse room near the far north end of that map. That location is harder to find because Sunny Meadows is massive and labyrinthine—finding the Potato there rewards patience and map knowledge.

I’ve shown you the route, pointed out the cues, and named the people and platforms that matter—PsychoHypnotic, Twitch, Kinetic Games, and Steam. Are you going in to pick it up and hear that alert for yourself?
