Marvel Rivals April 2 Patch Notes: New Lower Manhattan Map

Marvel Rivals April 2 Patch Notes: New Lower Manhattan Map

The skyline goes quiet, then a neon scar splits the night — Nueva York from 2099 has crashed into the present. I stood on a virtual street corner and felt the match tilt under my feet. You can smell opportunity, and danger, in equal measure.

I read patch notes so you don’t have to; I’ll point out the parts that change how you play and what you should do first. NetEase and Marvel have dropped a Season 7 update that rearranges the map, the events, and a few bugged moments that used to cost wins.

The servers stay online — download the patch and jump straight back into matches. The update rolls out on April 2 at 9 AM UTC. I tested logins after similar hotfixes; you should be able to resume play without downtime or queues.

When does the Marvel Rivals April 2 patch go live?

The patch is active from April 2, 9 AM UTC. No scheduled server downtime; just install and play. If you use the App Store or Google Play, update there; consoles and PC builds will follow NetEase’s rollout schedule.

New Map – Lower Manhattan

A boarded-up pizza shop sign still swings on a deserted Lower Manhattan corner.

The update drops a new map: Lower Manhattan. Alchemax HQ from 2099 has slammed into the present, and the area is half-futuristic factory, half-abandoned borough. That mix forces different angles on objective control and sightlines — close-quarters skirmishes in shadowed alleys and long-range duels on elevated walkways.

This map plays out like a chessboard rearranged mid-game: power positions shift, and momentum swings faster than before. If you favor melee brawlers, hunt the alleys; if you prefer ranged control, claim the rooftops and the broken plazas.

What’s new in the Marvel Rivals April 2 update?

Short list, high impact: the Lower Manhattan map, a Times Square screening event for Wonder Man, new store bundles and cosmetics, and several hero-level fixes. I’ll highlight the competitive bits you’ll notice first.

Times Square Premiere – Wonder Man Season 1 Screening

Times Square’s billboards already glow at midnight, and now one shows Wonder Man on repeat.

Marvel Television’s Wonder Man Season 1 will run as a limited-time screening in-game. Shows run daily and create a focal point where players cluster — useful if you like ambushes or want to steal pickups while crowds gather.

  • Screening Period: April 2, 2026, 7 PM UTC to April 16, 2026, 3 AM UTC.
  • Show 1: Daily at 7 PM UTC
  • Show 2: Daily at 3 AM UTC
  • Episodes: Wonder Man Season 1, Episodes 1 & 2 back-to-back.
  • PDT conversion: April 2–15 daily at 12 PM and 8 PM (local scheduling may vary).

The Disco and Clobberin’ Club live streams move to the screen above the COMICS store during the event, so expect a packed hotspot that can swing match flow.

How long is the Wonder Man screening?

The in-game screening runs from April 2, 7 PM UTC through April 16, 3 AM UTC. Two daily showings create predictable windows where activity spikes.

New In Store

A pop-up stand near the digital comics kiosk now advertises limited bundles.

  • Limited Bundles (April 3, 2 AM UTC — May 1, 2 AM UTC):
    • Invisible Woman – Riann Landau: The Debater Bundle
    • Mister Fantastic – Danum Ket: The Professor Bundle
  • Available from April 3, 2 AM UTC:
    • ESU College – Emoji Bundle
    • Invisible Woman – Riann Landau costume chromas: Pine Opposition & Royal Blue Rebuttal

If you care about roster cosmetics and small-power boosts, plan purchases before May 1 if you want the limited packs.

Fixes and Optimizations

I watched replays where abilities stuttered and matched them to player reports — several of the worst offenders are fixed.

Heroes

  • Clint’s Kumiho Catch: Fixed an issue where Hawkeye’s Ultimate might not damage White Fox afterimages.
  • Angela’s Angelic Ascent: Addressed a rare case where Assassin’s Charge interruption left the dash effect active.

All Platforms

  • Chronal Catch-Up: Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented players who were in matches during maintenance from entering battles normally after logging back in.
  • Deadpool’s Director’s Cut: Fixed a visual bug in Match Highlights where Deadpool’s role could display incorrectly.
  • Voice Changer Optimization: Upgraded the in-game voice changer for a more natural and fluid sound.

I’ll be testing Lower Manhattan in Ranked tonight — sound off with your first impressions. Will you sprint the rooftops or camp the COMICS screen for the Wonder Man premiere?
