What are mutations in Ride A Pet?
Mutations are permanent or temporary modifiers that change a pet’s Speed, Cash earnings, and sale value. I track them because they define which pets are useful for grinding and which ones are collector bait on Roblox trading channels.
Can a pet have more than one mutation?
You can combine one hatch mutation (Gold, Diamond, Rainbow) with one Weather Trait at a time. Weather Traits don’t stack: when a stronger trait lands, it replaces the weaker one.
How Traits and Mutations Work in Ride A Pet
On most servers weather events show up in the corner or in admin broadcasts — that’s your cue to act.
Hatch mutations are baked in when the egg opens. Weather Traits happen when an egg or a pet is on the ranch during an event; pets in your inventory won’t be affected. The Magma attempt at the volcano is special: you get one try per egg with a 15% success rate. A success adds eight seconds to the hatch timer and grants the Magma result; failure costs five seconds and returns the egg to your hand. If you’re hunting a rare egg such as Solaris, I recommend waiting for the Mutation Madness admin event to increase your odds.
