I land in Golden Grove with my heart racing and a loaded shotgun. You pause at a hallway, footsteps stop, and for a second the island feels too quiet. When Chica appears, she’s already closer than you expected.
I’ve tracked Fortnitemares oddities across forums, Discords, and YouTube clips so you don’t have to wander blind. Read this as a field guide: quick, usable, and tuned to the moments that make you either laugh or log off in a huff.
How to find Chica in Fortnite
You’ll often hear movement before anything appears on your screen.
Chica does not behave like a pinned boss. She is a guaranteed presence each round, but she doesn’t sit in one place — she alternates between several possible spawns across the island and never shows up at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Because she’s a mini boss, Epic Games doesn’t mark her with the skull icon that normally screams “boss here,” which means you need to trust your ears and your instincts.
She can freeze for long stretches, then suddenly move enough to generate footprint indicators. Those footsteps are your tell: they appear the same way as any AI enemy’s, but Chica’s habit of standing stock-still creates an odd gap in the pattern that you can learn to read.
Chica is a coiled spring ready to snap—approach rooms slowly, clear corners, and watch doors before you swing through them.
Where does Chica spawn in Fortnite?
Chica has seven possible spawn spots and shares them with Bonnie. Community sources—YouTube clips, Reddit threads, and mapping tools like Fortnite.gg—are full of clips showing the same handful of locations, which I’ve condensed below so you don’t waste time checking every POI.
Does Chica always spawn every round?
Yes. She appears in every match, but her location changes from round to round. That alternating behavior is what frustrates solo players who expect a fixed spawn at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza (she never spawns there).

Chica location in Fortnite
Community maps are already littered with pins and video timestamps.
Below are the seven spawn options where Chica (or Bonnie) can appear. I’ve walked each spot, checked clips from creators, and compared notes from players on Reddit and Twitter so this list reflects what you’ll actually find in-game.
- Around or inside the ski lift building at the top of the mountain at Lifty Lodge.
- Inside the main garage building at Chopped Shop.
- Wandering around the greenhouse building near the northeast edge of Shaken Sanctuary.
- In the car wash lobby located slightly south of Golden Grove.
- On the helicopter pad high up near the northwest end of Shaken Sanctuary, or in the room directly beneath it.
- Close to the pool at the motel northwest of Freaky Fields.
- Inside the room on your left at the large central building in Golden Grove.
The island is a chessboard of hazards now, so the moment you commit to traveling between these spots, you’re accepting risk. Use map apps like Fortnite.gg or community overlays on Twitch and YouTube to spot where other players are moving; those platforms act as a live radar of danger and opportunity.
If your hunt succeeds, there’s more Fortnitemares content to keep the tempo high: smash Pumpkin Chests for Sprites, use Flushers to foil Geno, and try a Dumpster Dive Sprite run. For tips and footage, creators on YouTube and streamers on Twitch are already running optimal routes—watch a couple of quick clips and you’ll shave time off your next run.
So: will you bait a trap, camp a corridor, or race the map pins and hope Chica walks into your aim?
