Marvel Rivals 10.5: Spooky Event Adds Avengers Modes, No New Hero

I dropped into a Wakanda match and everything went sideways in under a minute. My team lost an Infinity Stone and the game snapped into a different kind of pressure. You can already feel the October update rearranging how matches play out.

I’ve watched these midseason patches for a while, and you should read this like a cheat sheet — quick, pointed, and useful. Here’s what I’d tell a teammate before they queue: no new hero this time, but two heavyweight limited-time modes, seasonal cosmetics, and balance work that will change the meta.

On late-night lobbies you can see patterns forming. Marvel Rivals season 10.5 patch notes

Season 10 opened with Gorr as the last hero drop, and 10.5 pivots away from new characters. The midseason package is focused on limited-time game modes, quality-of-life touches, and targeted balance changes — the kind of update that tweaks how you play rather than how you build a roster.

The devs framed this in Dev Vision Vol. 22, where GuangGuang walks through the content plan and timing. If you follow the Marvel Rivals account on X (Twitter), you already saw the teaser: spooky season, two new marquee modes, and a fresh map for large-scale Annihilation fights.

Is there a new hero in Season 10.5?

No. For the first time in several seasons, you won’t be opening a midseason hero pack. Gorr arrived at season start, and 10.5 chooses to concentrate on modes and balance. If you were saving resources for a surprise character, you’ll want to reallocate toward seasonal cosmetics or hero shards instead.

What new modes are coming in Season 10.5?

The short answer: two big, time-limited experiences built to throw different kinds of pressure at teams.

Avengers: Infinity War mode launches with the update. It’s a fast-paced two-vs-two deathmatch for 12 players—six teams drawn from 13 heroes featured in the 2018 film—fighting across the fields of Wakanda. Rounds matter: losing costs health, and when your HP hits zero you’re out. Between rounds, ability upgrades appear to change loadouts and momentum. A random Infinity Stone is granted to each team at the start of every match; that stone is a loaded cannon.

Avengers: Endgame mode begins on Oct. 22 and flips the script to PvE: a 50-player cooperative push against Thanos, modeled on the final showdown from the 2019 film. Expect objective phases and boss mechanics that reward coordination over raw pick skill.

When do the Halloween events and skins arrive?

Seasonal content lands in two waves. All Hallows’ Glow begins on Oct. 15 with new costumes and cosmetics for heroes like Devil Dinosaur, Blade, Elsa Bloodstone, Deadpool, and Rocket Raccoon. The second wave, Halloween Night of Illusions, starts Oct. 29 and is described as an interactive puzzle experience — a different rhythm from the usual fight-first events.

The Halloween run flips aesthetics and objective design. The update’s seasonal side quests and cosmetics are a reliable place to spend both time and in-game currencies if you want to refresh your rosters’ looks for the winter push. The Halloween events turn the map into a haunted arcade.

Alchemax Headquarters joins the map pool as a new arena for 18-vs-18 Annihilation fights. Large-scale mode players should scan the map for choke points and vertical routes — those will decide control in the first weeks.

Hero balance notes are still pending. The devs promised a full set of nerfs and buffs closer to launch; keep an eye on the official patch notes and GuangGuang’s follow-ups if you track meta shifts or are saving shards for counterpicks.
