Fortnite Honey Sprite: How to Get It Fast

Fortnite Honey Sprite: How to Get It Fast

The match was collapsing around me—storm closing, a squad on my tail, and a tiny honey blob wobbling on the floor like taunting loot. I lunged for the pumpkin chest, swung my pickaxe, and watched bees erupt where my shot landed. You learn fast in Fortnitemares: the right move wins the night.

Smashing Pumpkin Chests is the quickest route

You’ll notice Pumpkin chests glowing all over seasonal POIs during Fortnitemares.

I recommend starting with them because Pumpkin chests are the most reliable source for the new Fortnitemares sprites added in update 42.40 (released October 15, 2026). Smash one and you have a guaranteed shot at a Fortnitemares Sprite—often the fastest way to snag the Honey Sprite if you’re racing the clock.

How to get the Honey Sprite in Fortnite?

You get it mainly by smashing Pumpkin chests, but also via rare/normal chests, Cheat Codes, certain Gizmos (Lucky Locator and Cheat Code Locator), trading with friends, and small chances from bosses or player eliminations when using the Bounty Hunter variant.

Cheat Codes and locator Gizmos often point you straight to a Sprite

I’ve seen Cheat Codes flicker, glitch, and refuse to register right in front of me.

Those Trick or Treat Cheat Codes spawn everywhere now and can drop Fortnitemares Sprites, though some codes appear Corrupted. If a code glitches, hit it once with your Pickaxe, then re-enter the code—99 times out of 100 it will register. Use the Cheat Code Locator Gizmo to highlight small areas with high-rarity Cheat Codes; those codes tilt the odds toward newer or rarer Sprites.

Tip: the Lucky Locator Gizmo will shepherd you to a buried Sprite chest that contains any Sprite you still need—handy when the Honey Sprite is the final missing piece. For map intel I check Fortnite.gg and watch a few creators on YouTube and X to see where spawns concentrate after each server-side update.

What does the Honey Sprite do?

The Honey Sprite spawns bees at the hit location when you deal damage with a ranged weapon, creating passive area damage—but it only triggers when you deal damage, so active engagement helps it pay off.

Trading, eliminations, and boss drops are the slow, steady routes

At least three squads asked to trade with me last night—people will barter when a Sprite is rare.

If Pumpkin chests and Gizmos fail, trade with friends. Offer Deer or Spooky Dash variants for a Honey Sprite. The Bounty Hunter Honey Sprite increases the chance of finding Sprites from eliminations; when you use it and down opponents, they sometimes drop a Sprite. Bosses also have a small Sprite drop chance. If you prefer to grind, the Bounty Hunter variant is your way to convert eliminations directly into Sprite XP.

Where to search on the Chapter 7 Season 4 map

My runs favor POIs with greenery and high container density.

Start in Nightmare Neighborhood (added in update 42.30) — it’s peppered with Pumpkin chests and even hides Freddy Krueger as a boss in certain matches. Other POIs that frequently yield Pumpkin chests and containers: Golden Grove, Cluster Coast, Shaken Sanctuary, Heatwave Harbor, Stone Sanctum (remember the vault beneath it), and Green Hill Zone. The map below highlights these spots.

Powers, leveling, and variants you need to know

I tested the Honey Sprite across several matches to see how often bees spawn and how quickly XP stacks.

How the power works: when you deal ranged damage, there’s a chance bees will spawn at the hit point. The Snack-O’-Lantern Gizmo complements this by giving healing items when you need to stay in the fight longer.

Leveling methods: open containers, smash Pumpkins, search chests, eliminate opponents, and use items. Note: the Bounty Hunter variant gains XP only from eliminations unless special rules apply.

Honey Sprite Level Chance to Spawn Bees Per Level
Level 1 5%
Level 2 6%
Level 3 7%
Level 4 8%
Level 5 10%

The Honey Sprite’s passive damage mechanic is rare among Sprites; the Deer Sprite is the only other one that indirectly affects damage (it boosts Pickaxe damage).

All Honey Sprite variants and which you should chase

I keep a Cheat Master on my wish list, but most players will settle for Trick or Treat versions when they’re easier to find.

  • Honey Sprite: Spawns bees where your ranged hits land.
  • Cheat Master Honey Sprite: Base power plus correct Cheat Code inputs when using world Cheat Codes.
  • Gold Honey Sprite: Base power plus 3x bonus XP from eliminations.
  • Loot Hacker Honey Sprite: Base power plus better chances to spawn items from Loot Hacks.
  • Bounty Hunter Honey Sprite: Base power plus higher chances to find Sprites from eliminations; only gains Sprite XP from eliminations unless special rules apply.
  • Trick or Treat Honey Sprite: Base power plus a chance to find candy when opening containers.

Cheat Master variants are rare; Trick or Treat ones are the easiest to find right after this seasonal drop. If you want to prioritize, aim for Pumpkin chests and high-rarity Cheat Codes first.

How rare is the Honey Sprite in Fortnite?

Epic hasn’t published definitive drop stats yet. Early sampling suggests the Honey Sprite’s drop chance may sit between roughly 4.4% and 2.6% depending on rarity tiers; expect patch notes and Fortnite.gg updates to refine those numbers.

Two final realities: Fortnitemares odds reward persistence, and sometimes luck tilts toward whoever controls the best locations. The map can feel like a buzzing beehive in a teacup when everyone converges, and finding the right Sprite can feel like finding a golden needle in a haystack—so which route will you pick to get the Honey Sprite first?
